Latin Name: Plectranthus caninus ‘Scaredy Cat’ (formerly Coleus caninus)

Description: A low-growing, aromatic perennial with soft, grey-green foliage and a slightly sprawling habit. When touched or brushed, the leaves release a strong scent, which is often described as pungent and is thought to deter cats and other animals. Small pale blue to lavender flowers may appear in summer.

Garden Impact: Ideal for placing near doorways, borders, or containers where animals are unwanted. Its subtle foliage blends easily into planting schemes while offering a practical purpose as a natural deterrent.

Light & Water Requirements: Prefers full sun to partial shade in well-drained soil; drought tolerant once established and well-suited to warm, sheltered spots.
