Common Name: Grape Hyacinth

Latin Name: Muscari spp.

Description: A charming, bulbous perennial with narrow, grass-like leaves and dense clusters of small, urn-shaped flowers, most commonly in rich shades of blue. The blooms resemble miniature bunches of grapes and appear in early to mid-spring, often with a light, sweet fragrance.

Garden Impact: Perfect for naturalising in lawns, borders, or under trees, where it creates drifts of vibrant spring colour. Ideal for mixing with other spring bulbs or planting in containers for a bright seasonal display.

Light & Water Requirements: Thrives in full sun to partial shade in well-drained soil; tolerant of a range of conditions and easy to establish.

Size (Fully Grown): Approximately 15–25cm tall and 5–10cm wide per bulb, spreading over time.
